SAFLEC is involved in a wide range of activities from training facilitation, industry trade shows and can offer guidance and information to its members on export related enquiries.

SAFLEC, in conjunction with SAFLIA and the CTFL SETA, is involved in facilitating machinist training and other skills development projects. This activity forms part of the greater strategic plan for the industry. Export trade statistics is conducted on a quarterly basis and distributed to members with the view to assessing product and destination country strengths which provides the building blocks for product and market diversification.

SAFLEC also participates in selected trade shows with the view to promoting the products of South African footwear industry with the intention to expand this activity to include allied industries.
